I found an opportunity as a Virtual Assistant for a food blog, RecipeThis.com
With this message, I got excited. As I am a newbie in the freelancing world. I immediately added the person stated in the image above on facebook, Samantha Milner, the owner of the RecipeThis.com blog.
October 15, 2018, Monday came. I messaged Samantha Milner, at exactly 9PM Philippines Time, which is equivalent to 2PM London time.
Long story short, I was hired by Samantha Milner as a trainee Virtual Assistant. My first month covers the period of October 15 to November 15, and I was going to be paid last December 10, Monday.
For my first month, I did 195 hours. As seen below in the screenshot (it was sent to me by screenshotmonitor.com, the one I used to track time working for Samantha), I did more than just 40 hours a week for my first month. However on maybe the third week of the second month I was working, I was hired for another job which pays higher. With this I reduced my hours to 20 hours per week. Because that was an option according to Sam during our conversation when I was being interviewed.
However last Monday, I did not receive my first payment. Samantha then removed me from the team, saying that I was not completing my hours even though I rendered a lot of overtime for such a little pay. I did everything fast, and accomplished a lot of things for her.
I contacted her via email since she blocked me on facebook. But I am afraid I did not receive any reply. Nor the payment I deserved from all the hard work I've done. She even wished me the best of luck for my future but she just scammed me.
With this post, I am advising all freelancers to be careful. A lot of people will be like Samantha Milner, and scam you and attract you with work but will not pay you, nor will have the decency to reply to your message and will just block you.

Be careful out there. I dont want anyone else to experience these kind of things. And I am hoping for the best for anyone who's reading this. And I suggest everyone to boycott RecipeThis.com. This blogger doesn't deserve any traffic at all. She scams and use people for her own gain and then dumps them whenever the time comes that she needs to pay.
Do not work for RecipeThis.com. RecipeThis is a SCAM! SAMANTHA MILNER is a SCAMMER!
